10 Keys to Living Your Life in Overflow
10 Keys to Continuous Harvest
Foundation: We Are Stewards
1 Chronicles 29:14 (NLT) "But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!"
Big Idea
When you stay in the flow with God, your sowing and your reaping start to overlap. You don't wait years for harvest—you live in continual overflow.
John 10:10 (AMP) "The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]."
10 Keys to Staying in the Overflow
Key #1: Keep Your Heart Right
Proverbs 4:23 (NLT) "Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life."
Proverbs 4:23 (AMP) "Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life."
2 Corinthians 9:7 (AMP) "Let each one give [thoughtfully and with purpose] just as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver [and delights in the one whose heart is in his gift]."
The Principle: Your heart determines your flow. A guarded, cheerful heart keeps the springs of life flowing.
Key #2: Make God the Priority
Proverbs 3:9-10 (AMP) "Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your crops (income); then your barns will be abundantly filled and your vats will overflow with new wine."
The Principle: First fruits, not leftovers. When God comes first in your finances, He promises overflow.
Key #3: Stop Over-Analyzing
Isaiah 55:8-11 (NLT) "'My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,' says the Lord. 'And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.'"
Isaac's Example: Sowing in Famine
Genesis 26:1 (AMP) "Now there was a famine in the land [of Canaan], besides the previous famine that had occurred in the days of Abraham. So Isaac went to Gerar, to Abimelech king of the Philistines."
Genesis 26:12 (AMP) "Then Isaac planted [seed] in that land [as a farmer] and reaped in the same year a hundred times [as much as he had planted], and the Lord blessed and favored him."
Illustration: Isaac sowed in famine, not comfort. Sometimes the seed that stretches you produces the harvest that surprises you.
A Farmer Once Said: "The seed I eat is gone; the seed I plant multiplies."
The Principle: Stop trying to figure out how God will do it. Just obey and sow—even in famine.
Key #4: Praise God in the Waiting Room
Galatians 6:9 (NLT) "So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up."
Illustration: Just because the seed is underground doesn't mean it's dead. Gratitude keeps your faith alive while you wait.
The Principle: The harvest is coming. Don't grow weary. Keep praising in the gap between sowing and reaping.
Key #5: Speak Life Over Your Seed
Proverbs 18:21 (AMP) "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words."
Proverbs 18:21 (MSG) "Words kill, words give life; they're either poison or fruit—you choose."
Jesus and the Fig Tree
Mark 11:12-14 (AMP) "On the next day, when they had left Bethany, He was hungry. Seeing at a distance a fig tree in leaf, He went to see if He would find anything on it. But He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. He said to it, 'No one will ever eat fruit from you again!' And His disciples were listening [to what He said]."
Story: Jesus spoke to the fig tree—it responded. Words have power over growth.
Application: Speak harvest over your giving daily: "My seed is working for me."
The Principle: Your words either bless your seed or curse it. Choose life-giving words.
Key #6: Keep Sowing Consistently
Ecclesiastes 11:1-6 (NLT) – The Uncertainties of Life
"Send your grain across the seas, and in time, profits will flow back to you. But divide your investments among many places, for you do not know what risks might lie ahead.
When clouds are heavy, the rains come down. Whether a tree falls north or south, it stays where it falls. Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.
Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother's womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things.
Plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you don't know if profit will come from one activity or another—or maybe both."
Illustration: Sporadic watering leads to dry spots; consistent watering leads to a green field.
MAKE SOWING A RHYTHM, NOT A REACTION.
The Principle: Don't wait for perfect conditions. Sow consistently, regardless of circumstances.
Key #7: Guard Against Greed and Pride
Deuteronomy 8:17-18 (MSG) "If you start thinking to yourselves, 'I did all this. And all by myself. I'm rich. It's all mine!'—well, think again. Remember that God, your God, gave you the strength to produce all this wealth so as to confirm the covenant that he promised to your ancestors—as it is today."
The Principle: Pride stops the flow. Humility keeps it open. Remember, God gave you the power to produce wealth.
Key #8: Keep Blessing Others
Proverbs 11:25 (AMP) "The generous man [is a source of blessing and] shall be prosperous and enriched, and he who waters will himself be watered [reaping the generosity he has sown]."
The Principle: The flow requires outflow. When you bless others, you position yourself to be blessed.
Key #9: Stay Obedient to God's Voice
Isaiah 1:19 (AMP) "If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the best of the land."
Illustration: The earpiece only works when tuned to the right frequency. Likewise, the flow of blessing depends on how well you're tuned to God's instructions.
Application: Quick obedience leads to quick overflow.
The Principle: Obedience unlocks the best. Delayed obedience is disobedience.
Key #10: Expect the Overflow
Amos 9:13 (AMP) "'Behold, the days are coming,' says the Lord, 'when the plowman shall overtake the one who gathers the harvest, and the one who treads the grapes [shall overtake] him who sows the seed [for the harvest continues until planting time]; when the mountains will drip sweet wine and all the hills shall melt [that is, everything that was once barren will overflow with streams of blessing].'"
Peter's Story: The Overflow Principle
Luke 5:1-11 (AMP) – The First Disciples
The Setup (Verses 1-3): While Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret with people crowding around Him listening to the word of God, He saw two boats at the edge of the lake. The fishermen had gotten out and were washing their nets. He got into Simon's boat and asked him to put out a little distance from the shore. He sat down and began teaching the crowds from the boat.
The Command (Verse 4): When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, "Put out into the deep water and lower your nets for a catch [of fish]."
The Obedience (Verse 5): Simon replied, "Master, we worked hard all night [to the point of exhaustion] and caught nothing [in our nets], but at Your word I will [do as you say and] lower the nets [again]."
The Overflow (Verses 6-7): When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their nets were [at the point of] breaking; so they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both of the boats [with fish], so that they began to sink.
The Response (Verses 8-11): When Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Go away from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!" For he and all his companions were completely astounded at the catch of fish which they had taken; and so were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon.
Jesus said to Simon, "Have no fear; from now on you will be catching men!" After they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed Him [becoming His disciples, believing and trusting in Him and following His example].
Story Summary: Peter sowed his boat for Jesus' ministry—later, the same boat almost sank from the catch.
Application: Live expecting God to outdo your obedience.
The Principle: When you sow your resources for God's purposes, expect an overflow that exceeds your capacity.

The Overlap Promise
When you stay in the flow with God, your sowing and your reaping start to overlap.
Like Amos 9:13 says: The plowman overtakes the reaper. The harvest continues until planting time. You're always in season because you're always in the flow.
Reflection Questions
- Which key do I struggle with most—heart, obedience, consistency, or expectation?
- Am I giving by faith or by habit?
- Who can I bless this week to keep the flow moving?
- Have I been over-analyzing instead of obeying?
- What am I speaking over my seed—life or death?
- Am I sowing consistently, or only when it's convenient?
- Have pride or greed crept into my heart regarding my blessings?
- Am I tuned to God's frequency to hear His instructions?
- Do I truly expect overflow, or am I settling for "just enough"?
- Where has God asked me to obey that I've been delaying?
The Challenge
Choose one key this week to focus on intentionally.
If your heart isn't right, work on that.
If you've been over-analyzing, just obey.
If you've stopped sowing, start again today.
If you're not expecting overflow, adjust your expectations.
Remember: The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But Jesus came that you may have life in abundance—to the full, till it overflows.
Live in the overlap. Stay in the flow. Expect the overflow.
