Speak It – Part 2:

Review

2 Corinthians 4:13 (AMP)

Yet we have the same spirit of faith as he had, who wrote in Scripture, "I believed, therefore I spoke." We also believe, therefore we also speak.

Everyone say, "I got it, I got it."

What do you have? We only have if you believe like I do.

Romans 12:3 (AMP)

as God has apportioned to each a degree of faith [and a purpose designed for service].

So, if we believe we should speak it. Then I have to ask you a question: do you believe the Bible? If you do believe the Bible, then what should you be speaking over your life?

What Should You Be Speaking?

Isaiah 54:17 (AMP)

"No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This [peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And this is their vindication from Me," says the Lord.

Romans 8:37 (AMP)

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us].

2 Timothy 1:7 (AMP)

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].

Romans 8:31 (NLT)

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?

Daily Confessions:

  • I tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. I take my shield of faith and quench his every fiery dart. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world (Ps. 91:13; Eph. 6:16; 1 John 4:4).
  • I let the Word dwell in me richly. He Who began a good work in me will continue until the day of Christ (Col. 3:16; Phil. 1:6).

How Jesus Sees Us

Genesis 1:26 (AMP)

Then God said, "Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth."

Genesis 2:19 (AMP)

So the LORD God formed out of the ground every animal of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name.

Psalm 82:6 (AMP)

I said, "You are gods; Indeed, all of you are sons of the Most High."

John 10:34 (AMP)

Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I said, you are gods [human judges representing God, not divine beings]'?"

John 1:14 (AMP)

And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we [actually] saw His glory, glory as belongs to the [One and] only begotten Son of the Father, [the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who is] full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception).

The Blueprint: Following God's Creative Pattern

Hebrews 11:3 (AMP)

By faith [that is, with an inherent trust and enduring confidence in the power, wisdom and goodness of God] we understand that the worlds (universe, ages) were framed and created [formed, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose] by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.

John 14:12 (AMP)

I assure you and most solemnly say to you, anyone who believes in Me [as Savior] will also do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these [in extent and outreach], because I am going to the Father.

Matthew 21:21 (AMP)

Jesus replied to them, "I assure you and most solemnly say to you, if you have faith [personal trust and confidence in Me] and do not doubt or allow yourself to be drawn in two directions, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Be taken up and thrown into the sea,' it will happen [if God wills it]."

Proverbs 18:21 (AMP)

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.

We must understand that we speak death to things—we have the power to speak life or death.

Why Aren't People Walking In The Power of God?

Proverbs 29:18 (AMP)

Where there is no vision [no revelation of God and His word], the people are unrestrained; But happy and blessed is he who keeps the law [of God].

Without vision—without revelation of God and His Word—people cannot walk in His power.

The Example of Elijah

1 Kings 17:1 (AMP)

Now Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, "As the LORD, the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word."

James 5:17 (AMP)

Elijah was a man with a nature like ours [with the same physical, mental, and spiritual limitations and shortcomings], and he prayed intensely for it not to rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.

Elijah was just like us—same nature, same limitations—but he understood the power of speaking God's Word.

Lamentations 3:37 (AMP)

Who is there who speaks and it comes to pass, Unless the Lord has authorized and commanded it?

Discussion Questions

  1. Believing and speaking: If you truly believe the Bible, what specific promises should you be speaking over your life right now? Are there areas where you've been silent when God's Word says you should speak?
  2. Created in God's image: How does understanding that you were made in God's image—with creative authority through your words—change the way you see yourself and your circumstances?
  3. Life and death in the tongue: Reflect on Proverbs 18:21. In what areas of your life have you been speaking "death" (doubt, fear, negativity) when you should be speaking "life" (faith, hope, God's promises)?
  4. Vision and power: According to Proverbs 29:18, people perish without vision. What is God's vision for your life, and how can having a clear revelation of His Word help you walk in His power?
  5. Following Elijah's example: Elijah was "a man with a nature like ours," yet he operated in tremendous faith. What would it take for you to pray and speak with the same intensity and confidence that Elijah demonstrated? What's stopping you from believing God can work through you in the same way?
